BLUETTI AC240 230 V: Output, Solar, and Outdoor Limits

Check the 230 V AC240's output, expansion, ECO behavior, resistive-load mode, and manual warning not to use the unit in rain.

The cited AC240 User Manual V1.0 describes a 230 V model with selectable 50/60 Hz output. It does not establish North American equivalence or support for AC240P. Match the manual and product name to the unit label. The manual’s explicit weather warning is also important: a family-level water-resistance claim does not mean the complete station can be operated in rain.

Documented AC240 limits

Field Manual value Qualification
Nominal capacity 1,536 Wh LFP Nominal storage; usable AC energy is not measured here
AC output 2,400 W at 230 V; 10.5 A; 50/60 Hz selectable Total AC output limit
UPS switching Up to 15 ms Maker specification, not a device continuity test
Solar input 11–60 V DC; 21 A maximum; up to 1,200 W Input voltage, current, and power apply together
Higher-voltage panel path 60–145 V panels require the specified BLUETTI PV Voltage Regulator Accessory compatibility must be checked
Direct DC output Up to 430 W combined RV, car, USB-C, and USB-A outputs have individual limits
Expansion Up to four B210 batteries; 10,136 Wh stated total Nominal system storage, not usable output energy
Environment Charge 0–40 °C; discharge −20–40 °C Manual ranges

The manual lists four AC outlets, a 12 V/30 A RV port, a 12 V/10 A car outlet, two 100 W USB-C ports, and two 18 W USB-A ports. The DC ports have a combined 430 W ceiling. Adding individual maximum labels can exceed the total, so check both the port rating and the combined limit for the intended simultaneous load.

Rain and outlet protection

The product family is marketed with an IP65 description, but the manual says not to use AC240 in rain and to keep plugs and sockets dry. Follow the exact-model instruction. Do not translate a water-resistance claim into permission for wet operation, exposed connectors, or outdoor charging in rain. The manual does not establish a setup that overrides the warning.

Solar, ECO, and Power Lifting

For direct solar input, the manual gives an 11–60 V range, 21 A maximum, and 1,200 W maximum. It says panels in the 60–145 V range require the specified regulator and also advises against mixing panel types. Confirm the exact panel’s open-circuit voltage and connector against the current instructions; wattage by itself is insufficient. Field solar harvest will also vary with orientation, temperature, shading, and weather.

AC-ECO and DC-ECO modes can shut off low-load outputs and are enabled by default in the cited manual. Disable the relevant mode only when the connected equipment needs continuous low-load operation and the current manual permits it. Power Lifting is limited to resistive loads rated 2,400–3,600 W; the station’s actual operating output remains 2,400 W. Motors and compressors may have startup demand above the rating, so do not infer support from the Power Lifting label.

Transfer and expansion are separate questions

The manual lists pass-through charging and a ≤15 ms UPS switching value. Neither establishes seamless behavior for a particular computer, pump, refrigerator, or medical device. Test ordinary loads and follow the equipment manufacturer’s continuity requirements. The AC240 manual’s runtime formula does not establish measured usable energy or guaranteed runtime.

The manual names B210 expansion up to four units. Confirm the battery revision, connection cable, and current regional guide before expansion. Fixed wiring and transfer equipment are outside this profile; use qualified local guidance and the complete current manual. See the UPS guide and solar compatibility guide for related checks.
